Day-to-Day Radiations.
Radiations is a huge listto learn.
We are already aware that there are lots of types of radiation among which we are living our daily lives.
Just because they are not visible to our naked human eye, we sometimes forget the fact that they are present around us in various forms.
Let us know talk about a few forms of radiation which we are easily prone to, and can take basic measures to reduce the percentage of effect of those upon us in our day-to-day lives.
Ultraviolet radiation.
These ultraviolet rays, commonly known to us as UV rays are the most basic form of radiation everybody is prone to.
These are from the hot burning Sun rays, which we live under everyday.
With the decrease in the thickness of the Ozone layer, the risk of UV rays had an increase.
=> Dehydration
=> Tanning
=> Skin rashes and irritation
=> Skin burns
=> Eye damage
=> Skin Cancers
The high risk of getting exposed to strong UV lights is from 10am to 4pm, usually when the sunlight is strong.
We can use simple steps to fall under less risk of direct UV rays
Sunscreen application over face and hands
Cover most of the body with clothing
Using cotton clothes for more comfort and protection
Use sunglasses for eye
Use a hat to cover your face and eyes from direct sunlight
Avoid being in sunlight for more time.
As we get a fine amount of Vitamin D from the early morning rays, we get a fine amount of UV rays also from the sunlight.
Signal Radiation
The most prone radiation which we carry around is our mobile phone signal radiation.
The mobile phones emit and receive Radio Frequency (RF) waves.
With the excessive usage of mobile phones, we are getting under the exposure of these RF waves.
This is why we find our smart phones heated up very much after excessive usage.
Though, there are no proper documented proofs that these RF waves might cause cancers, but still more exposure causes various types of health issues like
Headaches
Sleep disturbances
Increase in body heat levels
Memory disturbances
decrease in eye sight
neck, shoulder and hand pains
Nausea
Dizziness
physical orthopaedic problems
We cannot completely avoid this, but we can avoid being under more watts of radiation from our smart phones through some simple steps.
=> Try avoiding speaking directly from ear-to-phone. Instead use speaker mode or earphones or bluetooth headsets whenever possible.
=> Do not place them in your shirt pockets! Instead place them in your purse, wallets or handbags.
=> Place your mobiles at-least two to three feet distance from your head while you are sleeping. Unless you need to wake up for an alarm, use it in airplane mode so that it will not use any RF signals to receive any messages or calls. Also, you can have a peaceful sleep throughout the night.
We are aware of all these simple steps but we tend to ignore them.
Though they are comparatively less hazardous than any other radiations like X-rays or Gamma-rays, as we will be under frequent exposure to these forms of radiation the risk of these increases day-by-day.
Henceforth, let us not avoid these simple steps to keep ourselves safe.
Prevention is better than cure.
